renegade craft fair

So one of the reasons I stayed in New York an extra week was to go to the Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn on Saturday. And I was especially happy that a Brooklyn-based friend of mine wanted to join (it's much more fun going with a kindred spirit, thanks again Nicole!). I've already blogged about my one purchase from the fair - that would be Marled Buster - but here is a taste of some other great things. There were so many artists that I was unable to capture, all wonderful. But here is just a little taste.

An army of fern animals by Ashley Anna Brown. I'm an unreasonably big huge gigantic enormous fan:




The beautiful printmaking of Alice Jarry and Jason Cantoro. These pictures aren't great, but they should give you an idea. Their prints were amazing, they practically sparkled. Actually they did sparkle:

Sizeable ceramic bird beaks by Adams Puryear. I love these. They remind me a little of Sparky:

A couple months ago, my friend Cindy told me about Faythe Levine & Micaela O'herlihy's upcoming film Handmade Nation. Pictured here is a pretty darn adorable Faythe, the film's Director:
